Sigra’s expertise is in measuring and interpreting geotechnical parameters. This specifically includes rock stress and groundwater pressure. In the laboratory, Sigra measures rock properties. These include values of Young’s modului, Poisson’s ratios and Biot’s coefficients to describe anisotropic, inhomogeneous rock. This enables the determination of effective stress values. Sigra can then design structures in the ground using numerical models that incorporate these parameters.
